Dr. Sean Ormond, M.D. is a dual board-certified physician specializing in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management. With a deep commitment to helping patients regain their quality of life, Dr. Ormond employs a comprehensive and individualized approach to pain management.
He completed his anesthesia residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he distinguished himself as Chief Resident, demonstrating leadership and clinical excellence. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois, where he refined his expertise in minimally invasive procedures and cutting-edge pain relief techniques.
Dr. Ormond believes in a patient-centered philosophy, emphasizing traditional, evidence-based pain management approaches as the foundation of treatment. However, when conventional methods do not provide sufficient relief, he seamlessly integrates advanced interventional techniques, regenerative medicine, and a multidisciplinary approach to achieve optimal results. His goal is not just to manage pain but to address its root causes and restore functionality, allowing patients to return to the activities they love.
As the founder of Atlas Pain Specialists in Phoenix, Arizona, Dr. Ormond is dedicated to offering state-of-the-art treatments for chronic pain conditions, including back pain, neuropathy, joint pain, and complex regional pain syndromes. Dr. Daniel Lara II
MD/Interventional Spine and Pain Management
Dr. Daniel Lara II is a physician specializing in Interventional Spine and Pain Management, dedicated to helping patients overcome pain and return to active, fulfilling lives through comprehensive, minimally invasive, and evidence-based care.
Dr. Lara earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine. He began his postgraduate training with a general surgery internship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center – Permian Basin, followed by a postdoctoral research fellowship at Wake Forest University, where his work focused on nerve and bone healing research that continues to inform his innovative approach to pain and regenerative medicine. He completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington, and advanced his expertise through a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Pain Management at The CORE Institute.
Dr. Lara provides a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and treating pain. His clinical interests include spine-related pain, peripheral nerve disorders, neuromodulation, and regenerative therapies such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and biologic cell-based treatments.
Dr. Lara has also co-authored and published multiple research articles, and has presented at local, regional, and national meetings. His philosophy of care emphasizes compassion, precision, and partnership, tailoring each treatment plan to the unique goals and needs of every patient.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lara enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and attending sporting events. His balance of scientific rigor and genuine human connection defines his commitment to helping patients live healthier, more active lives.

Salvatore Zummo

Salvatore Zummo is a board-certified Physician Assistant, who has over ten years of experience as a family medicine practitioner, as well as over seven years of experience
in pain management. Before pursuing his profession, Sal’s path was shifted to a more disciplined and service-oriented life when he enlisted in the United States Navy. He is a
Persian Gulf War veteran and proudly served his country, a chapter of his life that has deeply shaped his character and commitment to service. After his military service, Sal
pursued higher education at Arizona State University, where he earned a degree with summa cum laude honors. He continued his academic journey by enrolling at A.T. Still
University in Mesa, Arizona, where he completed his Physician Assistant training.
This led to his passion for medicine and helping patients improve their quality of life. Outside of Sal’s professional endeavors, some things to know are that he was born in the Bronx, New York, and enjoys playing guitar, watching sports, and traveling. A fun fact about Sal is that he appeared on Sesame Street as a young child. Sal’s different life experiences have greatly shaped him as a person. His dedication to his medical career and passion for family and hobbies, reflect his commitment to growth, service, and balance in life.
